The Christmas Adventure – Stockeld Park

Martin and Lesley – A Christmas Adventure Film
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Two children were getting ready, as quiet as a mouse.
Their coats were put on with great care,
In hopes that St Nicholas would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in the car,
Excited to journey no matter how far.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my hat,
Drank a flask of tea, drove away just like that.
When we arrived on our Christmas Adventure,
We sprang from our vehicle, with rattling from our denture.
Away to the entrance we flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and handed o’er our cash.
The sun on the breast of the ice-rink
Gave the whole thing a sparkle as we enjoyed a hot drink.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight lit up reindeer.
The children ecstatic, smiling so quick,
They knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
The children were amazed, he called them by name!
We wandered into a maze all merry,
But soon we were lost, unlike my son Freddy!
He led the way as we twisted and turned I just didn’t know,
How he was so certain on just which way to go.
And then, in a twinkling, we went deep into a wood
We were all smiling, we knew that we should.
As we walked around, with excitement in the air
My son was certain, ‘Look Dad a big Bear!’
Time traveled quick whilst we were there,
Such a magical time that had great flair.
So we sprang to our sleigh, our family gave a whistle,
And away we all flew like the down of a thistle
But we could all be heard to exclaim as we drove out of sight,
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!
